We live in hopeful times in oncology. Dr. Mehta is a strong supporter of the promise of identifying genetic mutations and other "drivers" of cancer, to identify the optimal therapies for an individual  patient's condition.

Board Certified

Board certification is crucial for a doctor to adhere to the highest standards of the profession. Dr. Mehta is board-certified in both oncology and hematology.

In addition to the US, Dr. Mehta has a medical license in Bermuda, to offer consultations to residents of Bermuda as well!

In practicing medicine over 18 years, Dr. Amit Mehta provides University level expertise with a highly personalized focus. Two of his greatest joys in medicine are talking with patients and education. He was previously on faculty at Duke University, and between school, medical training, and practice, he has worked in 3 states. He was born in New Jersey, and grew up in New Jersey & New York. He has lived in North Carolina for the past several years, which he is now proud to call home!

Research

Dr. Mehta has numerous scientific publications in the medical literature. In addition to research efforts at Duke University, he has presented at national conferences as well. He remains actively involved in research and publishing.
